IT in healthcare can aid to make savings in the administration sector, as it provides support to the patient records tracking and management, which in other cases would have required additional labor and cost accordingly. It also has a direct impact on the quality as the integration and utilization of patients’ databases and their medical records can help to optimize treatment plans for large arrays of populations, as well as to have fewer treatment mistakes and quicker response time. It is also effective because the database can track the data that has been accumulated through many years, and healthcare workers would still have an opportunity to access the information quickly and in an efficient manner. In addition, the patients who have severe conditions would benefit from quicker and better coordination as well as communication, as IT in healthcare serves as a platform that helps the workers to operate faster without unnecessary idle time. The other benefit that IT brings is additional training for to employees, which would improve their knowledge, skills, and general awareness (Herrick, Gorman, Goodman, 2010).
In conclusion, this is important to mention that IT and healthcare industry are allies that can help to improve the medical organization, which has a direct impact on the patients’ satisfaction, safety, and general well-being while staying within the hospitals.
